Background

Wasn't it beautiful, weren't we cool... Oh those days! We used to mix tapes for ourselves, our friends and... for the cutest girls whom we would impress with personalized tapes, full of music they didn't know yet. For hours we would lock ourselves in our rooms, alone with records, 12"-s, singles, a turntable and a tape-deck. A perfect mix of two times 45 minutes, and you will be remembered for ever!

Who does not remember the time 'auto reverse' was introduced? Wow, that was innovation! And innovation lasted: now we have online libraries packed full with a huge range of artists and genres.

Concept

Strangelove (a creative advertising agency based in Amsterdam) had the idea to ask music professionals to make a Mixed-Tape; a very simple idea with a really nice result. Via Spotify or Deezer, we ask music artists, record labels, DJ's and all types of creative like-minded people to put together a unique and personal playlist. Sometimes it can be related to a specific theme / event / launch, or maybe the complete opposite of what one might expect from a certain 'character'.

Spotify / Deezer

You need either Spotify or Deezer to listen to the tapes.

Because we've got a brand new office.

Strangelove has moved. And everyone knows there's only one way to celebrate this: a houseparty!!

Tonight we will celebrate the start at our new office with all of our Strangelove friends, and of course there's no party without Heineken. So our friends from Heineken sponsored our party with their cool & unique 'Heineken Star Bottles'.

Party on!

135 C86 in 2012

by Rats On Rafts

It's very simple, a compilation of music we enjoy at this moment and have enjoyed for years, you can play it in one go and it fits together as a set and at the same time it doesn't at all. A nice C12 compilation.

224 From bootleg to original

by Daniel Zuur

I love music, and I love to make my own interpretations and stories with existing tracks. I like to pick some pieces of the track and play with the elements I love the most. All the tracks in this mixed tape you can find in my live sets in a different way. Enjoy!

197 Food and Inspiration

by Sonurber

Here are some tracks that inspire me in what I do, did and will do. Please enjoy the grooves of Nicolas Jaar, the beauty of techno in Dockyard by Paul Kalkbrenner, and lose yourself in The Passing of Time by my absolute favourite: The Orb.

199 Wub and his candyshop

by Wub

Always tough to make a choice in all the music. These are some candies I took from my candyshop: melodic house, more crazy electronica and ass-shaking techno. I love them all!
