Background

Wasn't it beautiful, weren't we cool... Oh those days! We used to mix tapes for ourselves, our friends and... for the cutest girls whom we would impress with personalized tapes, full of music they didn't know yet. For hours we would lock ourselves in our rooms, alone with records, 12"-s, singles, a turntable and a tape-deck. A perfect mix of two times 45 minutes, and you will be remembered for ever!

Who does not remember the time 'auto reverse' was introduced? Wow, that was innovation! And innovation lasted: now we have online libraries packed full with a huge range of artists and genres.

Concept

Strangelove (a creative advertising agency based in Amsterdam) had the idea to ask music professionals to make a Mixed-Tape; a very simple idea with a really nice result. Via Spotify or Deezer, we ask music artists, record labels, DJ's and all types of creative like-minded people to put together a unique and personal playlist. Sometimes it can be related to a specific theme / event / launch, or maybe the complete opposite of what one might expect from a certain 'character'.

Spotify / Deezer

You need either Spotify or Deezer to listen to the tapes.

190 The John Coffey Tourbus Experience

by John Coffey

John Coffey shows are known for their madness and the partying going on during the show. When we leave the stage, all pumped up and excited, the energy keeps on going. By the time we enter the bus for a long drive (usually with a couple of beers we begged for at the venue), one lucky bastard gets to be the DJ. The recipe is always the same: HITS. iPods are handed to the DJ from all sides as we loudly sing along to the jingles we all love so much. To share that feeling with you, we collected a handful of those hits. Close your eyes, enter the tourbus, and enjoy THE JOHN COFFEY TOURBUS EXPERIENCE.

134 Decades in Music

by Tim Akkerman

Over the past decades there's been a great diversity in music, which inspired me to this personal selection of songs from each period in time. I've called it 'decades in music' and I hope these songs will inspire you as much as they inspired me during my steps through life. Enjoy!
